Bahrain is one of active Endurance countries in the FEI Group 7.

In 2016 there were 212 riders and 270 horses registered in FEI for Endurance discipline.

Main event of Endurance season in Bahrain is HM The King’s Cup Endurance Ride.


Previous editions of The King’s Cup were held in 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012.

Winner of 2012 The King’s Cup CEI** 120 Km was YACOOB YOUSIF Y AL HAMMADI from Bahrain with average speed of 23.374 km/h.
Winner of 2013 The King’s Cup CEI** 120 Km was SH.SAEED BIN MAKTOUM BIN JUMA AL MAKTOUM from UAE with average speed of 25.655 km/h.
Winner of 2014 The King’s Cup CEI** 120 Km was SH. MOHAMMED BIN MUBARAK AL KHALIFA from Bahrain with average speed of 24.084 km/h.
Winner of 2016 The King’s Cup CEI** 120 Km was FAHAD HELAL MOHAMED AL KHATRI from Bahrain with average speed of 28.800 km/h.

Top 5 Bahraini riders in 2016 FEI Rankings are Yacoob Yousif Yacoob AL HAMMADI, Abdulrahman Mohammed ALZAYED, Raed MAHMOOD, Mohamed Abdulaziz AL HASAN and HH Sh Nasser Bin Hamad AL KHALIFA.

HH Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad AL KHALIFA is the Bronze winner of 2016 World Endurance Championship in Samorin, where he finished on WATERLEA DAWN TREADER with average speed of 23.43 km/h.


This year HM The King’s Cup Endurance Ride was sheduled for 18 February at Bahrain International Endurance Village.

Riders from Algeria, Argentina, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Spain, UAE and USA were listed in the start list.

Unfortunately, full event is postponed until further notice due to severe weather conditions with thunderous rain at times.

Weather forecast of the Meteorological Directorate of Bahrain predicted improving of weather in the coming days.

Maybe, some day Bahrain will begin to invite more international riders and their horses.
