UAE Endurance Season 2016-2017 kicked off on Friday 21st October in Dubai with the CEN 100 km Al Wasl Endurance Cup Restricted to Private Stables. The winner is Salem Hamad Saeed Malhoof AL KITBI on ZELZAL with average speed of 24.31 km/h.

On the next day there was another competition – the CEN 100 km Seeh Al Salam Challenge. The winner is Munther Ahmed AL BALOUSHI on ALHAMBRA LATIFFE with average speed of 25.64 km/h. Riders from Australia, France, Great Britain, Germany and Spain also participated.

In Abu Dhabi the first opening ride was on Saturday 29th October – the CEN 100 km Al Wathba Cup for Private Owners. The winner is Mohammad Ghanim Al Marri on ULYSSE DE KALLISTE with average speed of 26.61 km/h. 80 riders including 3 from France have participated.

Rides in Bou Thib scheduled for 4-5 and 11-12 November and for New Year Eve are postponed in calendar without further explanation

In November first ride was the CEN 120 km Al Wathba Challenge Endurance Ride. Riders from Australia, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland have participated. The winner is Salem Hamad Saeed Malhoof Al Kitbi on BURKAAN with average speed of 27.14 km/h

On 19th November the CEN 119 km Al Marmoom Endurance Ride restricted to Private Individuals and Stables was held in Dubai. Riders from Belgium, France, Netherlands, Portugal and Alex LUQUE MORAL from Spain also participated. The winner is Rashed Saeed Al Kamda on LOCKELEA STARWOOD COMET with average speed of 25.80 km/h.

On 24th November the CEN 120 km Jumeirah Endurance Cup was held in Dubai again. The winner is SH HAMED DALMOOK AL MAKTOUM on Sameem with average speed of 27.59 km/h. Riders from Australia, Belgium, Italy, Spain have participated.

The only FEI ride that has been held in Bou Thib was the CEI 1* 80 km Sh Hamdan and Sh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Cup on 25th November. The winner is Ummed Singh Bhiv Singh on SM Logo Entero with average speed of 19.24 km/h. Riders from Australia, Germany, Great Britain and Netherlands also participated.

The big event was held on 26th November in Abu Dhabi. The CEI 2* 120 km HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Endurance Cup. President of Ground Jury and President of Veterinary Commission from France and Technical Delegate from Spain ruled this event. 101 female riders were in start list, including 30 from Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Spain. The winner is Veronica Simula from Italy on POETS CORNER ZSA ZSA with average speed of 26.74 km/h. Third place was taken by another Italian lady rider GIULIA VIGEVANI with speed on the final loop of 30.67 km/h.

On Wednesday 30th November 2016 the CEN 100 km Commemoration Day Endurance ride was held in Dubai. The winner is ABDULLA GHANIM AL MARRI on BAHREIN LAZARUS with average speed of 28.92 km/h. Riders from France, Netherlands, Spain and Mario Hoffman (owner of 2016 World Championship venue) from Slovakia have participated.

On Thursday 1st December the first FEI ride was held in Dubai after signing new agreement between FEI and Dubai Equestrian Club. The CEI** 120 km Al Fahidi Endurance Ride attracted over 200 riders, including European riders from Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain. The winner is Ghaith Abdul Wahid Khamis RUBAYA on DLIFFEY with average speed of 25.25 km/h.

On Saturday 3rd December the CEN 120 km National Day Cup was held in Abu Dhabi. Riders from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany. Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Switzerland have participated. The winner is Saif Ahmed Al Mozroui on Ramaah with average speed of 28.06 km/h.

Finally, on 10th December new rides were held in Abu Dhabi:

  • FEI CEI* 80 Km Endurance Ride which has the winner from Great Britain – HARRIET CONSTANCE GARDNER BROWN on Khatem with average speed of 21.43 km/h;
  • FEI CEI* / CEN 100 Km YAS for Private Owners Ride which has the winner from Italy – Veronica Simula on ZENITH DES PINS with average speed of 28.25 km/h.

Warm hospitality of UAE continues to attract many European riders including some top names. They are happy to come to UAE again and compete there both in National and FEI rides.
