Who is Tarek Taher?
Endurance Temporary Committee member Tarek Taher, Endurance representative on the FEI Athletes’ Committee and founder of True Endurance International Riders Association (TEIRA), spoke passionately about his love of the sport and the importance of feedback from the whole Endurance community.
“Rest assured that your voices are being heard loud and clear, and your horses as well”, he said. “Your concerns and your suggestions have been the basis of everything we do at the Endurance Temporary Committee and the FEI. The communication between the global Endurance community, the ETC and the FEI has been phenomenal. The FEI has been proactive and extremely cooperative.”
Tarek Taher is an Endurance Rider from Saudi Arabia (which belongs to Group 7).
From his Facebook profile, we can find out that he studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
In September 2018 he was elected to the FEI Athletes Committee as FEI Endurance Athletes representative, and now he sits for a four-year term on Endurance Technical Committee as well.
This is what Tarek published in his application as a candidate for FEI Athlete representative:
That’s what Tarek wants you to know about him.
He exposes himself as a fighter for a clean sport, for true endurance.
Tarek recites his goal “to bring back true endurance, clean endurance,” because endurance sport “deteriorates with doping and unfair horse welfare treatment.”
Tarek created an organization called TEIRA (True Endurance International Rider Association) to unite all “True Endurance Riders” around the world.
